			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>De afgelopen jaren hebben in het teken gestaan van een explosieve groei op het gebied van sociale netwerken en media. Niet alleen zijn we lid van meerdere netwerken maar is het inmiddels ook normaal geworden om honderden vrienden te hebben. Best vreemd als je na gaat dat volgens Oxford hoogleraar <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Dunbar" target="_blank">Robin Dunbar </a>150 het maximum aantal van sociale relaties is dat een mens aankan.</p>
<p><span> </span></p>
<p><span>Ondanks mijn sterke geloof dat sociale technologie mensen juist in staat stelt om conventioneel sociaal gedrag te versterken zie je dat deze groei ook leidt tot onpersoonlijker gedrag. Waarom zou je de echt persoonlijke zaken met je 350 Facebook vrienden delen?</span></p>
<p><span> </span></p>
<p><span>Er wordt al langer gespeculeerd over de komst van anti-sociale of personal netwerken. Maar tot op heden zie je nog weinig initiatieven voorbij komen. Vandaag is na maanden van hype een veelbelovend initiatief gestart: <a href="http://path.com" target="_blank">Path</a>. Path wordt gezien als het anti-sociale netwerk.</span></p>

<p><span>Path noemt zichzelf &#8220;The Personal Network&#8221;, omdat je bent beperkt tot slechts 50 vrienden! Zoals het bedrijf zelf zegt op hun blog: &#8220;Omdat je persoonlijke netwerk is beperkt tot de 50 beste vrienden en familie, kun je er altijd op vertrouwen dat je elk moment, ongeacht hoe persoonlijk het bericht is Path kunt gebruiken. Path is een plek waar je jezelf kan zijn.&#8221;</span></p>

<p><span>Hoe succesvol Path zal worden moeten we afwachten. Duidelijk is wel dat de anti-social trend is begonnen&#8230;</span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not really surprisingly for us but real conversations seem to be going on amongst brands and their audiences says a recent study form Burson-Marsteller. Eight out of ten of the largest 100 companies in the <a style="color: #666666; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;" href="http://157.166.224.109/magazines/fortune/global500/2009/index.html" target="_blank"><em>Fortune</em> Global 500 index </a> uses one or more popular social media platforms.</p>
<p>Global brands find value from engaging in social media. Twitter seems to be very popular with 65% of the brands having a presence here. Notable is that European brands have the same Twitter presence as the US brands, 70%.</p>

<p>Facebook and Youtube channels are also valued as important by half of the top brands because the use them quite seriously. Most brands use multiple accounts, channels, blogs, fan pages, names when using these social media. Most striking is that they really engage in conversations with their audiences in different varieties of conversations styles.</p>

It helps you decide where you should focus your social media strategy on, depending on your market. Social networks have experienced an explosive growth and this info-graphic gives you a good overview of the demographics of the users.</p>
<p>For instance, women  represent more than 55% of the population on  social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, whereas men use more reference sites such as Digg. What is also remarkable is that the age group from 35-54 is mostly represented throughout all the mentioned social networks.</p>

<p><strong>Campaign</strong><br />
A Facebook profile was made for the store manager, <a href="http://www.facebook.com/ikeagordon" target="_blank">Gordon Gustavsson</a>. On this social profile images were uploaded from IKEA showrooms to his Facebook <a href="http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1791&amp;id=100000373779371" target="_blank">photo album</a>. Then they put out the word that the first person to tag their name to a product in the pictures, won it.</p>
<p><strong>Results</strong></p>
<p>Thousands of people saw the promotion and spread the word to their friends and family through sharing links on Facebook, through email and word-of-mouth. Sharing on Facebook was also done by using the newsfeed and of course people putting it on their profile. A successful social media campaign with a huge viral effect and for very low cost.</p>
